Our talented sewing ladies, Tebocho and Rendani, make all the soft furnishings of our lodge. The traditional attires of the Venda, Tsonga and Lobedo people provide an endless source of inspiration for modern textile designs.
Inspired by wall decorations of rural homesteads
Items like bed sprays, curtains, throws and table runners in our rooms and suites are all inspired by Venda, Tsonga and Northern Sotho traditional cloth, the wall patterns used in villages and the beautiful textures of traditional homesteads and decorations all around rural Limpopo.
Co-design your own piece
Tebocho and Rendani also make items like shoulder bags, scatter cushions, towels and jewelry to sell in our CraftArt shop. They do custom-made wall decorations and other textile objects on request too. Many guests go home with their own co-designed, personal piece of the heritage of the North. Our studio offer frequent workshops and training programs for external companies and institutions, giving preference to partner with organizations with similar beliefs in sustainable rural development.
Lodgers are welcome to pop in at the studio and non-lodgers can phone or email us to make arrangements to visit.
