The sound of Tshandama drums can be heard across the globe

Tshandama Freedom Art Market

The woodcarvers of Tshandama Freedom Art Market in Mutale, Northern Limpopo make drums and wooden objects such as bowls, walking sticks and food stampers. They also like to make replicas of traditional objects such as carved sticks for mixing the medicines of traditional healers. Locally, they sell  to schools and music groups who buy their drums for ceremonies in the local villages, but the sound of their drums can be heard across the globe. Visits to the woodcarvers can be arranged.
