Mukondeni Pottery factory is a group of 30 women who established a pottery factory in Mukondeni, near Elim, Northern Limpopo. Their pots are decorated with geometric patterns and symbols like the fish

One family, helping each other and learning from each other

They produce traditional and contemporary Venda pots, clay fire places, bowls, clay beads and objects for decorations at Mashamba village. Working at the factory, they feel being one family, helping each other and learning from each other. Originally the round pots served as traditional fridges, when water is poured inside, it stays cold.  You can visit their workshop, pottery demonstrations and the fire place.
